English record champions Manchester United have made a long-term commitment to their Portuguese midfield star Bruno Fernandes. As the club of German team manager Ralf Rangnick announced on Friday, Fernandes has signed a new working paper until 2026 with an option for another season.
“Two years on it’s still a great feeling to come out at Old Trafford, hear the fans sing my song and score a goal in front of the Stretford End,” said Fernandes. “There’s so much more I can do here want to achieve and I know that goes for the rest of the squad and the team as well.”
Fernandes (27) switched from Sporting Lisbon to United in January 2020 for 63 million euros. In 117 competitive games for the Red Devils so far, the attacking midfielder has been directly involved in 88 goals. The Portugal international has twice been voted Player of the Season by United fans.
