The English record champions Manchester United have to do without Christian Eriksen (30) for months. According to the club, the Danish offensive player suffered an ankle injury in the FA Cup win against Reading FC (3-1) and is therefore expected to be out “by the end of April or the beginning of May”.
Eriksen left Old Trafford on crutches after Saturday’s game. “Of course he’s disappointed, we’re disappointed. We have to deal with it and we have good players in midfield who can fill the gap,” said coach Erik ten Hag. Nevertheless, the Dane is “difficult to replace”, mainly due to his influence in the last third of the field.
The Red Devils are fourth in the Premier League and on course for the Champions League. The Denmark star switched from FC Brentford to ManUnited last summer.
