English international Mason Mount is moving from Chelsea to Manchester United in the Premier League. As the record champions announced on Wednesday, the 24-year-old midfielder is coming to Old Trafford from the troubled capital club for a transfer fee of 55 million pounds (about 64 million euros) and has signed a five-year contract there.
“I can’t wait to be a part of this group’s quest to win big titles,” Mount said in a statement.
“It’s never easy to leave the club you grew up with, but Manchester United will be an exciting challenge for the next phase of my career,” it said.
Mount comes from the Blues’ youth academy and won the Champions League with the club in 2021. In the final against Manchester City, he provided the template for Kai Havertz’s decisive goal. The German national striker announced his move to runner-up Arsenal a week ago.
