Midfielder Sandro Tonali joins Newcastle United from AC Milan. This was officially announced by the Premier League club on Monday.
Tonali has signed a five-year contract with Newcastle until 2028. The transfer fee for the 23-year-old Italian is reportedly 70 million euros.
This makes Tonali the record signing from Newcastle along with Alexander Isak. Isak joined the Magpies from Real Sociedad in 2022 for the same fee.
Tonali made 48 competitive appearances for Milan last season (two goals, ten assists). In total, the 14-time Italy international made 130 appearances for the Rossoneri in three years.
At Newcastle he should now help them play a good role in the Champions League and also establish the club in the upper tier of the Premier League.
