Officially!  Reds sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion

Liverpool FC have signed world champion Alexis Mac Allister (24) from Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion. The club shared this with team manager Jürgen Klopp on Thursday officially with.

Mac Allister costs around 40 million euros, he had an exit clause of this amount. The midfielder has signed a contract that runs until 2028.

Mac Allister said on Liverpool’s official website: “It’s a great feeling. A dream come true. It’s great to be here and I can’t wait to get started. (…) It’s been a fantastic year for me – the World Cup, what we achieved with Brighton – but now it’s time to think about Liverpool and try to be a better player and a better person every day.”

Mac Allister comes from the youth of Argentinos Jrs. In 2019, Brighton signed him for a fee of eight million euros and initially loaned him out to his home club for half. A one-year loan to Boca Juniors followed before joining Brighton’s professional squad in 2020. Manchester City is also said to have been interested in him recently.

Mac Allister completed a strong season for the Seagulls with 40 competitive games, 12 goals and 3 assists. At the World Cup in Qatar, he completed six games for the Albiceleste on the way to the world title.
