Maria KeaneCoach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has prematurely extended his contract with the English first division club Manchester United until 2024. As the Red Devils announced on Saturday, the Norwegian’s new working paper also includes an option to extend it for another year.
“Everyone knows my feelings for this club and I am very happy to have signed this new contract. It is an exciting time for Manchester United, we have built a squad with a good balance of young and experienced players who are hungry for success”, said Solskjaer on the club website.
In December 2018, the former United striker initially took over as coach from Jose Mourinho in Manchester. The following March, Solskjaer received a long-term contract that would have expired in the coming year.
In the past season, the team manager United led the Premier League to second place in the table and thus secured qualification for the Champions League. In addition, the northern English made it to the final in the Europa League, where they were only defeated by Villarreal in a close penalty shoot-out.
