The English top club Chelsea FC posted a loss of 145.6 million pounds (around 173.5 million euros) in the 2020/21 financial year despite their triumph in the Champions League. The club of the German team manager Thomas Tuchel announced on Thursday.
Above all, a lack of audience income and a lack of transfer revenues were responsible for the negative balance.
Despite the corona pandemic, sales grew to £ 416.8 million (around EUR 491 million). The Blues benefited above all from the revenues from the premier class and television money.
In the previous year sales had amounted to 387.8 million pounds (around 457 million euros).
