Hansi Flick will announce his squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on November 10th.

Pascal Groß’s agent campaigned for his protégé to take part in the World Cup in Qatar.

National coach Hansi Flick announced his final 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Thursday. A name that many people probably don’t have on their slip of paper for a World Cup ticket is Pascal Groß.

The 31-year-old is under contract with Brighton & Hove Albion and, according to his agent Tolga Dirican, has performed well there. He would therefore wish that Groß was part of the DFB squad for Qatar.

“Pascal has been impressive in England for years with excellent performances in the best league in the world. He’s consistently delivered performances at a very high level this season,” said Dirican transfermarkt.de. “I would like his achievements to be honored in Germany as well. In my opinion, Pascal would have deserved it with his achievements, skills and modesty to go to Qatar for the World Cup with the German national team,” continued the agent.

Groß played for FC Ingolstadt until June 2017, and for two seasons he even stayed in the Bundesliga with the Bavarian club. When Ingolstadt had to move into the second division for the 2017/2018 season, Groß switched to Brighton on the island.

Set big in the Premier League

The central midfielder is a seed in the Premier League and has played 168 games in the past five years, scoring 22 goals and providing 29 assists. In the current season, Groß is in a good mood, in 13 games he scored five goals and set up two more.

Despite these good performances, the 31-year-old has not been an issue for the DFB in recent years. He last played for a national team in 2011 – but at that time still for the German U20.

On Thursday, Groß and his advisor will get clarity on whether the midfielder can go on vacation or to the World Cup. Then national coach Hansi Flick announces his final squad – but the competition for big is huge.

In central and attacking midfield, where the 31-year-old is based, there are top-class players such as Joshua Kimmich, Kai Havertz, Thomas Müller, Jamal Musiala, Marco Reus, Leon Goretzka and Ilkay Gündogan.
