Premier League: Liverpool leaders overnight

Liverpool FC has taken the lead in the Premier League for at least one night. Against Crystal Palace, the former champions of team manager Jürgen Klopp managed a 3-0 (1-0). Sadio Mane (43.), Mohamed Salah (78.) and Naby Keita (89.) scored for the Reds.

Liverpool are still unbeaten with 13 points and have three points ahead of the competition in places two to four ahead of the Sunday games.

The Klopp-Elf started with a lot of enthusiasm and missed a few opportunities in the first few minutes. The conspicuous Mane took the long overdue lead shortly before the break after guest keeper Vicente Guaita failed to capture a Salah header.

Mane set a Premier League record: never before had a player scored nine times in a row against the same opponent.

After the break, the Reds took it easy, and Palace became more courageous: Salah made the preliminary decision after a corner on the second post, Keita set the final point with a volley that was worth seeing.

Champions Manchester City did not get past a 0-0 draw against Southampton FC, but still temporarily jumped to second place. Arsenal FC, in which keeper Bernd Leno was once again only on the bench, clinched their second win of the season at Burnley FC. With the 1-0 (1-0) thanks to a directly converted free kick by Martin Ödegaard (30th), the Gunners climbed further out of the table cellar.
