Premier League – “Slap in the face” for Jürgen Klopp: Luis Díaz is out for a long time

Liverpool FC will have to do without winger Luis Díaz in the coming months. The Colombian left the team’s training camp in Dubai on Friday and, according to information from The Athletic undergo an operation.
He is said to be absent for around three months. “The news was a clean slap in the face,” said Jürgen Klopp.
In the middle of the week, the 25-year-old was injured in training. “It wasn’t an action worth mentioning,” Klopp told the club media on Sunday: “It wasn’t really anything, he felt something. The next day he wasn’t in much pain, but we wanted to be careful and look at it.”
The result of the following examination: A lateral ligament injury in the knee. If the forecast downtime is correct, Díaz is expected to miss the two games in the Champions League round of 16 against Real Madrid.
He had only returned to team training a few days earlier after injuring his knee in October. Díaz previously established himself as a regular in Klopp’s team.
