Ruben Dias extends ManCity until 2027

The English soccer champions Manchester City have given the Portuguese defender Ruben Dias a contract until June 30, 2027. The club of national player Ilkay Gündogan announced on Monday.

The 24-year-old Dias was signed in September 2020 for around 75 million euros from Portugal’s record champions Benfica Lisbon. The previous contract with the Citizens already had a term until June 30, 2026.

Dias had been voted Premier League Player of the Year by British football journalists. “Playing for City has exceeded all my expectations,” said the Iberian. “It’s an absolute pleasure to be part of this incredible team.”
