Tottenham Hotspur got off to a bad start in the new year. Antonio Conte’s team lost 2-0 (0-0) to midfield club Aston Villa on matchday 18 of the Premier League at their own stadium.
This opens up the opportunity for Liverpool, coached by Jürgen Klopp, to oust the Londoners from fifth place in the table on Monday (6.30 p.m.) with a win at FC Brentford.
Emiliano Buendia (50′) and Douglas Luiz (73′) scored for the visitors at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Argentina’s world champion goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez sitting on the bench after his extended leave of absence.
