Erik ten Hag is probably planning a major upheaval at Manchester United. Up to 15 players should be on the hit list.

Manchester United may have ended a six-year wait for a major title this season by winning the League Cup and remain in contention for victory in the FA Cup and a place in the top four of the Premier League – but inconsistency remains a problem .

In the Europa League, United lost out to Sevilla in the quarter-finals. And for coach Erik ten Hag, the clear 3-0 defeat in the second leg in Spain was another indication that his squad needed a refresher.

According to the Times numerous players from the current squad could leave United next summer. SPOX has put together 15 candidates to leave Manchester.

David de Gea

The Spanish goalkeeper is something of a fixture at the club, with over 530 appearances and a record-breaking number of clean sheets. De Gea has yet to extend his contract, which expires at the end of June, and his status as number one at Old Trafford has long been in question. Former transfer fee: 25 million euros | Contract until 2023

Harry Maguire

The captain and tough central defender is only used sporadically by ten Hag this season. He may need a fresh start after costly mistakes crept into his game. Former transfer fee: 87 million euros | Contract until 2025

Victor Lindelof

The Swedish defender has been at Manchester since 2017. When all the players are fit, however, the competition is very strong for him. Lindelöf would certainly have better prospects for more playing time at another club. Former transfer fee: 35 million euros | Contract until 2024

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Seemed written off when Diogo Dalot took the place at United’s right-back position. However, he has brought himself back into the conversation and hopes to be able to convince ten Hag that no reinforcements are needed in his position. Former transfer fee: 55 million euros | Contract until 2024

Scott McTominay

The Scottish midfielder is a homegrown talent from the famous United academy. The Red Devils are well stocked at headquarters. There have been rumors of interest from other clubs recently. Former transfer fee: 38 million euros | Contract until 2024

fred

The Brazilian has endured a rollercoaster of emotions in English football and has become something of a cult player. However, its value for the collective is repeatedly questioned. Former transfer fee: 38 million euros | Contract until 2024

Anthony Martial

Form and condition issues have dashed the French forward’s efforts to become a reliable No9. United seem willing to invest heavily in a replacement for Martial. Former transfer fee: 38 million euros | Contract until 2024

Donny van de Beek

Signed in 2020, the Netherlands international has never been able to establish himself as a regular and has been absent this season due to an unfortunate injury. Former transfer fee: 38 million euros | Contract until 2024

Phil Jones

The versatile former England international, who has been at United since 2011 and has already won a Premier League title, has only made 13 appearances since 2019. Also because he is always plagued by injuries. Former transfer fee: 19.30 million euros | Contract until 2023

Brandon Williams

The homegrown player had hoped to take the place at United’s left-back. However, its development has stalled. It doesn’t look like he has a future at Old Trafford. Own youth | Contract until 2024

Anthony Elanga

The 20-year-old winger also comes from United’s youth academy. However, Elanga is currently behind the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho. Own youth | Contract until 2026

Axel Tuanzebe

Another talent from his own youth who hasn’t managed to play his way into the first team on a regular basis. Was loaned out to Stoke City in January but is set to return after the end of the season. Tuanzebe’s contract with United expires at the end of June. Own youth | Contract until 2023

Alex Telles

The Brazilian arrived from Porto and is known for his ability to cause a stir at either side. However, Luke Shaw blocked his path and Telles was loaned out to Sevilla FC this season. His contract in Manchester runs until 2024. Former transfer fee: 15 million euros | Contract until 2024

Eric Bailly

Once seemed poised to become a mainstay in United’s centre-back but is now hardly in demand on loan at Olympique Marseille – the southern French would only have to sign the Ivorian on a permanent basis if he were to play 50 per cent of games – then a buy-in would be mandatory eight million euros. However, it doesn’t look like that at the moment. Former transfer fee: 38 million euros | Contract until 2024

Dean Henderson

Questioned United’s handling of him when he was loaned to Nottingham Forest. It seems unlikely that he will be seen as a long-term goalkeeping option despite being an England international. Own youth | Contract until 2025
