Thiago Silva is missing against BVB

The English top club FC Chelsea will have to do without central defender Thiago Silva in the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.

As the Blues announced on Tuesday, the captain of the Brazilian national team has suffered a ligament injury in his knee and is out for the time being.

Silva was substituted in the Premier League game at Tottenham Hotspur (0-2) at the weekend because of an injury in the first half. Chelsea did not provide any information about downtime, but the duel with BVB on March 7 comes too early. The Londoners had lost the first leg 0-1. However, the journalist Fabrizio Romano claims to have learned that the defense chief is said to be absent for five to six weeks.

More bad news for team manager Graham Potter, who is under massive pressure after just two wins from their last 15 games in all competitions. Silva had only missed three Premier League games of the season so far.
