Manchester City are currently unbeatable.

Manchester City leads the Premier League table with a few rounds to go. Here you can find out how the Skyblues can become champions prematurely.

Manchester City is currently probably the team in the best form in Europe, which not only proves the 4-0 show of force against Real Madrid in yesterday’s semi-final second leg of the Champions League, but also the results at national level. So the ticket for the final of the premier class in Istanbul against Inter Milan is booked, but in the FA Cup you are also in the final against city rivals Manchester United.

Things aren’t much different in the English championship, with Man City at the top of the table after 36 matchdays and close to winning the next title. You have to look back a long way for the last defeat of the season so far – in early February against Tottenham Hotspur.

In the following you will learn how the Citizens can become champions prematurely.

Premier League: This is how Manchester City becomes champion early

Most of the Premier League already have 36 games under their belt, including Arsenal, who have long held the top spot but have gradually lost it to Man City in recent weeks. However, the Gunners remain in the chasing role and are the only ones besides City who theoretically still have a chance of winning the title.

Mikel Arteta’s side are four points behind Man City, but have also played a game more, so they can only get a maximum of six points. City, on the other hand, have only played 35 games and therefore have one more chance to collect points. This makes the way to the ninth championship much easier, because ManCity can close the sack in the next league game.

  • A win against Chelsea on Sunday (May 21) is enough to secure first place this season. It doesn’t matter how Arsenal played against Nottingham Forest the day before.
  • Even with a loss or draw on Sunday, City could emerge champions from the weekend if Arsenal lose or draw against Nottingham.

Basically, it’s enough if City take two out of a possible nine points in the coming weeks, as the goal difference is significantly better than Arsenal’s (20 goals better).
