Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is full of praise for Kai Havertz. His style of play reminds him of three former Premier League stars.
“I see a player who has a bit of Dennis Bergkamp, Robin van Persie or Dimitar Berbatov,” said Tuchel in an interview with former Chelsea player and coach Glenn Hoddle when asked if he saw Havertz as number 9 .
In the interview, Tuchel especially praised Havertz’s versatility: “He can play in the half position because he runs well, but he also sometimes feels free from the nine position and creates a majority on the sides.”
The 22-year-old international is the Blues Tuchels’ first choice in attack – far ahead of superstar Romelu Lukaku. He has scored five goals in the last five Premier League games and now has 13 goals this season in all competitions.
