The US owner of Chelsea FC, Todd Boehly, is apparently planning to take over another European football club after his investment in the Blues.
Eight months after his first acquisition of a European football club, Todd Boehly is planning, according to information from L’Equipe now to acquire the French first division club Racing Straßburg in association with its business partners.
Accordingly, the 49-year-old billionaire is said to have expressed his interest in taking over the Ligue 1 club at a dinner with Strasbourg President Marc Keller.
According to the report, Boehly is planning a complete takeover with 100 percent of the shares in the club and is also interested in approaching the German market.
Strasbourg has been considering for several years “how best to secure the club in the long term and strengthen its ambitions.” In the current season, Strasbourg are in 15th place in Ligue 1 and are therefore in acute danger of relegation.
