Maria KeaneWill Celtic coach Ange Postecoglou (57) succeed Jürgen Klopp (55) if he one day leaves Liverpool? According to ex-Celtic player Paul Slane, that’s the likely scenario.
In conversation with Grosvenor sports he said: “I think Postecoglou will be the next Liverpool manager. I really think so.”
Then the former Scotland youth international asked rhetorically: “Who else is going to take over the Liverpool job after Klopp?” In the context, Slane made an interesting comparison with the new Chelsea team manager, explaining: “If people think that Graham Potter is better than Postecoglou, then they are wrong.”
It was only in April of this year that Jürgen Klopp extended his contract with Liverpool FC until 2026. The 55-year-old has been on the sidelines for the Reds since 2015 and has won both the Champions League and Premier League titles with them.
Postecoglou’s contract with Celtic expires in 2023. The Athens-born Australian led the Bhoys to their 52nd championship in the club’s history in the spring.
