Maria KeaneThe ex-Gladbach Granit Xhaka will not be available to Arsenal FC for up to three months due to a knee injury.
As the Gunners announced on Wednesday, the captain of the Swiss national team suffered a “significant” inner ligament injury in his right knee in the 3-1 derby win against Tottenham Hotspur. The former Bundesliga professional is spared an operation.
As a result, Switzerland is missing Xhaka in the crucial games of the World Cup qualification. Before the game against Tottenham, Xhaka had to pause because of a positive corona test.
