Viktoria Berlin receives third division license

Viktoria Berlin finally rises to the 3rd division. As expected, the capital city club received the license from the German Football Association (DFB) after the stadium issue had been clarified. On the other hand, as expected, KFC Uerdingen did not receive a license, which is relegated, from which SV Meppen benefits.

“I am pleased that the duties have been fulfilled and our hard work is rewarded. It is great that we, as Berlin representatives in the 3rd division, can now return the favor for the outstanding support and for all football fans in the capital,” said Managing Director Peer Jaekel.

Viktoria wants to play in the next season in the stadium in Jahnsportpark, which is currently being made suitable for the third division. The Olympic Stadium is available as an alternative venue.

Viktoria had won all eleven games of the season until the corona-related interruption of the Regionalliga Nordost and was then declared champion.

3rd league: Uerdingen does not receive a license – Meppen remains third class

The KFC Uerdingen, however, as expected, has not received a license for the 3rd division. The DFB confirmed this on Friday. This means that SV Meppen remains in the league despite the sporting relegation.

“The KFC could not prove the necessary economic performance in the context of the procedure and has therefore not received approval for the coming season,” said the DFB.

At the beginning of June, an investor surprisingly left the Krefeld team. On the last day of the match, Uerdingen was still in the class and is now facing an uncertain future.
