1. FC Saarbrücken falls behind promotion places

Third division 1. FC Saarbrücken can no longer win and has lost direct contact with the direct promotion places. Against Wehen Wiesbaden, coach Uwe Koschinat’s team had to settle for a draw for the fourth time in a row at the end of the seventh matchday with a 2:2 (1:1) draw.

Although the former Bundesliga team was the only team in the league to remain undefeated alongside leaders 1860 Munich, they are now three points behind newcomers SV Elversberg in second place.

However, since SC Freiburg II, currently third in the table, is not eligible for promotion, FCS is fourth in the relegation zone.

One point behind Saarbrücken, Wiesbaden is also promising after its fifth game in a row without defeat (eleven points).

The hosts took the lead twice through Sebastian Jacob (22nd) and Luca Kerber (66th). However, Wiesbaden managed to equalize both times through Johannes Wurtz (32nd) and Ivan Prtajin.
