With the third win in a row, SC Verl has left the relegation zone. Coach Michel Kniat’s team won 2-1 (0-1) against Borussia Dortmund’s second team because goalkeeper Niclas Thiede saved a hand penalty from Franz Pfanne in added time (90′ + 5′). With one game to go, Verl are two points ahead of the first relegation zone.
Before the dramatic finale, Kasim Rabihic (56th) and Lukas Petkov (63rd) in front of 6,000 spectators at Signal Iduna Park initially turned the deficit through Richmond Tachie (39th). Tachie saw the yellow-red card in the 75th minute.
