Dynamo Dresden is dependent on the competition's failures in the promotion race.

One match day before the end of the season, Dynamo Dresden is in the middle of a fight for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. But how does Dynamo manage to get promoted directly this weekend? You can find out here at SPOX.

Before last weekend, Dynamo Dresden still looked like a very hot candidate for promotion. With 66 points, Markus Anfang’s team was on a direct promotion path. Against SV Meppen, however, Dynamo Dresden conceded a harsh 1: 4 swatter on the 33rd matchday – the Dresdeners no longer have promotion in their own hands.

The competition took advantage of Dynamo Dresden’s mistake last weekend. Markus Anfang’s team slipped down to sixth place in the table due to the defeat against SV Meppen.

With VfL Osnabrück, SV Wehen Wiesbaden and 1. FC Saarbrücken, three teams eligible for promotion are ahead of Dynamo Dresden. SV Elversberg is also the first promoted team before the 34th matchday and can no longer be caught by the Dresdeners.

3rd league, scenarios: This is how Dynamo Dresden is promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga

Dynamo Dresden meets VfL Oldenburg in front of a home crowd on matchday 34 of the 3rd division. Markus Beginning’s team can no longer make it up directly on their own and is dependent on the support of the competition. The Dresdeners have to overtake VfL Osnabrück, SV Wehen Wiesbaden and 1. FC Saarbrücken in the table for direct promotion on the last matchday.

The promotion candidate VfL Osnabrück has to deal with BVB II at home. SV Wehen Wiesbaden duels on matchday 34 with Hallesches FC, 1. FC Saarbrücken also welcomes Viktoria Köln. Will Dynamo Dresden do their homework against VfB Oldenburg, who have already been relegated, and secure their eligibility to play in the 2nd Bundesliga? What are the scenarios for a rise in Dresden?

Dynamo Dresden rises directly when they

  • win the game and VfL Osnabrück, SV Wehen Wiesbaden and 1. FC Saarbrücken draw or lose.
  • win the game, VfL Osnabrück and SV Wehen Wiesbaden draw or lose, and Dynamo score four goals more than Saarbrücken when 1. FC Saarbrücken win at the same time.
  • draws and VfL Osnabrück, SV Wehen Wiesbaden and 1. FC Saarbrücken lose.

As the current sixth in the table, Dynamo Dresden also has the chance to reach third place in the table and qualify for the 2nd Bundesliga via relegation. However, Dynamo Dresden can only reach the relegation place if the competition fails.
