Waldhof Mannheim missed the jump to fourth place despite being outnumbered and taking a penalty

Waldhof Mannheim missed the leap to fourth place in the 3rd division. The Kurpfälzer did not get past a 1-1 (1-0) draw at FSV Zwickau on Sunday despite being outnumbered.

Adrien Lebeau (5th) put the Waldhöfer in the lead, but Jesper Verlaat (67th) with an own goal made the hosts celebrate.

Zwickau’s Steffen Nkansah saw the red card for an alleged handball (72′). Actually, he had only touched the ball with his knee. However, the resulting penalty by Joseph Boyamba (73rd) was parried by FSV keeper Johannes Brinkies.

The Waldhöfer have 49 points and are sixth after matchday 32 behind 1. FC Saarbrücken (50) and 1860 Munich (49). The match day will end on Monday with leaders Magdeburg playing Viktoria Berlin.
