Maria KeaneSome FC Bayern Munich players were whistled at by numerous fans in the Allianz Arena at the first NFL game in Germany.
When Leroy Sané, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Co. were shown on the video wall in their own home arena and greeted by the stadium announcer, there was a loud whistling concert from the spectators present.
Only Thomas Müller and his wife Lisa received warm applause. This swung straight back into whistles when the camera showed the national player’s team-mates.
In addition to Sané and Choupo-Moting, Alphonso Davies, Sven Ulreich, Marcel Sabitzer, Leon Goretzka, Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry were also there.
The whistles against the home stars were quite surprising, even if the victory of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers around quarterback Tom Brady over the Seattle Seahawks (21:16) was not only attended by Bayern fans, but by spectators from all over Germany and Europe.
There was also great applause for tennis star Alexander Zverev. Here are more impressions of the event.
