When does the season start?

It’s warm and sunny outside, but you just want to watch football again? Then get in the mood for the coming season of the 3rd league: Here you can find out everything about the schedule, games, start.

The 2022/23 season is over and the next season of the third division is already upon us.

This time there are seven new teams compared to last year. With the former second division club Arminia Bielefeld, Jahn Regensburg and SV Sandhausen, three teams had to make their way down.

At the same time, the clubs from SSV Ulm, VfB Lübeck and Preußen Münster secured direct promotion tickets to their respective regional leagues. In the playoffs for the fourth ticket, SpVgg Unterhaching, coached by Sandro Wagner, won against Energie Cottbus.

3. League, schedule, games, start: when does the season start?

A rough scheduling of the first match day of the new third division season has already taken place in advance. Accordingly, all teams will play their first game between August 4th and 6th. It is not yet clear when exactly which team’s turn will be. However, the announcement of the final schedule is expected by mid-July at the latest. When it does, we’ll update this article.
