Arminia Bielefeld signs veteran Castro

Maria KeaneBundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld has signed Gonzalo Castro and thus strengthened himself with plenty of experience for the relegation battle. As Arminia announced on Tuesday, the 34-year-old midfielder signed a contract until the end of the current season plus an option.
Castro was the captain of Bundesliga competitor VfB Stuttgart until the summer of this year and was most recently without a club.
“We are very happy that we can add a lot of first-division experience to our squad with Gonzalo. He has proven his undisputed qualities on and off the field for more than 15 years in the Bundesliga and in international competitions and has always been one of his posts important leadership figure, “said Arminia managing director Samir Arabi.
Castro, who also played for Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen in his career, has a total of 409 Bundesliga and five international matches.
