Bayern Munich reportedly interested in signing Ansu Fati from FC Barcelona

FC Bayern Munich is apparently working on the next big transfer. According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo the German record champions are interested in signing attacking star Ansu Fati, who is currently under contract with FC Barcelona.

According to the report, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann is a big admirer of the 20-year-old. The Bavarians belong to a circle of several clubs that are monitoring the current situation of the Spanish national player. Previously already had the Spanish Sports reports that Manchester United have put out feelers to Fati.

The Munich team recently caused a stir with several large transfers, shortly before the end of the transfer in January, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic landed full-back João Cancelo from Manchester City.

Fati was once considered the rising star and set numerous age records at Barça. After Lionel Messi left Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021, Fati even inherited the legendary shirt number ’10’.

But numerous injuries stagnated the development of the former child prodigy, currently he is only a rotation player under coach Xavi. In the current season he has already made 30 competitive appearances, in which he was involved in nine goals. However, he was only twice on the pitch for the entire season.

Ansu Fati still has a contract until 2027

Fati’s contract in Barcelona runs until 2027, the stipulated exit clause is one billion euros. However, it is questionable whether Barça would insist on this sum if the worst came to the worst. The financially troubled club will also have to try to earn income in the summer, with a lucrative offer and the attacker wanting to change, a transfer could also be made for a significantly lower sum.

Fati came to the legendary Barça academy La Masia at the age of nine and went through all the youth teams there.
