Karim Benzema spoke about the remaining top teams in the Champions League and explained why he is not very afraid of Bayern Munich.

“The team that scared me the most was Paris,” said the Real Madrid striker in an interview with the L’Equipe. Manchester City, Liverpool FC and certainly not Bayern Munich would have impressed him as much as the Parisians.

“Bayern is a team that scores goals but also concedes a lot,” analyzed the 34-year-old: “I watch their games and sometimes they run into counterattacks where two defenders meet four attackers.” The Frenchman no longer sees clear favorites in the premier class. Real Madrid have to beat Chelsea in the quarter-finals. In a possible semi-final they would then meet the winner of the duel between Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.

Benzema has had an outstanding season so far, scoring 34 goals in 35 competitive games – in the round of 16 alone against Paris he scored three times in the second leg. A meeting with FC Bayern could come at the earliest in the final.

Bayern, News: Kahn “not surprised” by the Freiburg protest

Oliver Kahn and FC Bayern Munich expected SC Freiburg to appeal. “We are not surprised,” said the CEO when asked dpa: “The matter is now in the hands of the sports courts, which we fully trust.” In Bayern’s 4-1 win in Freiburg, twelve players from the record champions were on the field for a short time.
