BVB: Julian Brandt extends in Dortmund

National player Julian Brandt (26) has prematurely extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2026. The second in the table announced this on Tuesday. The offensive all-rounder switched from Bayer Leverkusen to BVB in 2019, this season Brandt is the second best BVB scorer this season with eight Bundesliga goals and four assists.

“I’m looking forward to the next few years in black and yellow and I’m sure we’ll have the opportunity to celebrate something big together,” said Brandt: “Even after four years, I still have a lot of fun every single day, being part of this one To be a team, to be on the pitch with these guys and to play football for this highly emotional club with its extraordinary fans.”

For Borussia, the extension with Brandt is an important building block in squad planning. “As announced in winter, we are now entering a phase in which we will make and announce personnel decisions step by step. Julian’s signature is a first step in this direction,” said sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

Brandt has “developed enormously over the past year, has become much more focused in the game against the ball, regularly prepares goals and shines as a shooter himself,” Kehl continued: “His feeling for dangerous situations on the pitch, coupled with his technical skills His skills and creativity make him a valuable part of our squad. He therefore plays a very important role in our planning and we are happy that he has decided to continue to help shape Borussia Dortmund’s sporting future as a leading player.”
