BVB: Raphael Guerreiro is out

Borussia Dortmund will have to do without Raphael Guerreiro in the chasing duel at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday (6.30 p.m.). As in the Champions League against Manchester City (0-0), the Portuguese international is out due to muscular problems. The use of captain Marco Reus is questionable.

“He feels better. However, there is a big question mark over his performance. We will decide after training whether he will be included in the squad,” said coach Edin Terzic. Reus had suffered another setback after surviving an ankle injury and recently had to take a break again.

For Terzic, the encounter is “a trend-setting game”. After qualifying for the round of 16 in the DFB Cup and the Champions League, you have to “make up a few points in the Bundesliga”. His team is “ready” for that.

In Frankfurt there is a reunion with ex-Dortmunder Mario Götze. “I’m pleased with Mario that he managed to get back to his level,” said Terzic. Götze is “in really good shape, very sure of the ball”. He was “able to play the deadly pass or score the goal himself,” said Terzic, who emphasized: “We don’t just have to stop him, we have to stop the entire offensive.”

Knauff returns to BVB

BVB also announced that Ansgar Knauff (20), who was loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt, will be brought back after the season.

“The clear plan with Ansgar Knauff is that he comes back to us in the summer,” said Terzic. Knauff is not available for Eintracht due to a hamstring injury against Dortmund.
