"Cannot be our claim"

Oliver Kahn spoke up after FC Bayern’s draw against TSG Hoffenheim. The CEO of Munich expressed his disappointment, but remains optimistic.

Out in the DFB Cup quarter-finals against SC Freiburg (1-2), clapping in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at Manchester City (0-3) and on Saturday a disappointing performance in the 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga against Hoffenheim: At FC Bayern’s change of coach from Julian Nagelsmann to Thomas Tuchel has not yet had the desired effect.

“Just one point again and the next setback for us! Results and performances like these cannot be our claim,” Kahn wrote on Twitter on Sunday, referring to the game against Hoffenheim.

Since Borussia Dortmund made a big mistake at VfB Stuttgart at the same time and did not get more than 3: 3, Bayern remain the leaders with a two-point lead over BVB. The 53-year-old also emphasized this.

“Nevertheless, we’re still top of the table and we’ll defend this place with all our might,” said Kahn. There are still six match days left in the Bundesliga. The German record champions still have to go away against Mainz, Bremen and Cologne, while Hertha BSC, Schalke and Leipzig are still guests at the Allianz Arena. The goal is clear: FCB want to bag the eleventh championship in a row.

Kahn: “Everything is possible in the arena”

But first it’s in the second leg of the premier class against Manchester City. Despite the seemingly hopeless starting position after the 0:3 in the first leg, Kahn was combative.

“Now we have to concentrate 100 percent on the game on Wednesday. We have to do everything we can to make the seemingly impossible possible. But that requires total conviction and belief. With the support of the fans in the Everything is possible in the Arena. I’ve experienced that myself often enough,” wrote the former goalkeeper.
