Christian Keller becomes Managing Director Sport at 1. FC Köln

FC Köln found what they were looking for in the position of sports director – but they still have to wait just under four months for their ideal candidate. The billy goats announced the signing of Christian Keller on Tuesday, the 42-year-old will take over the position on April 1, 2022.
Keller, who was the sole managing director of the second division Jahn Regensburg until the end of October, is to work at FC with Thomas Kessler, sporting director of the licensed player department, and Lukas Berg, head of administration licensed player department.
Jörg Jakobs, who has had interim sporting responsibility for FC since Horst Heldt was fired at the end of May, will then return to an advisory role.
“The FC board of directors worked extremely hard for me. I was particularly impressed by the seriousness, reliability and professionalism of the FC managers. This basis of trust is eminently important to me because it is the only way to work together effectively,” Keller is quoted as saying .
