Coach Christian Streich from Bundesliga club SC Freiburg considers Volker Finke’s record to be unattainable. “No,” replied Streich to the question im kicker-Interview (Monday edition) whether he could imagine Finke’s record. Finke had trained Freiburg for 16 years in a row (1991 – 2007), Streich celebrates his ten-year service anniversary on Wednesday.
During this time, “countless things happened,” said the 56-year-old: “I have put so many things in my head that are not there, but if someone would press on the head or I see an ex-player from a certain one Time, everything comes out again. “
Streich doesn’t have to think long about his greatest success. “That we played nine tenths of the time in the Bundesliga and became champions the year after our relegation. We were successful within the scope of SC Freiburg and play football in such a way that people like to come to us at the stadium,” said Streich and added: “We are and have always been a community. This term is easy to pronounce, but living community in a positive sense is not so easy.”
After a strong first half of the season, Streich winters with the SC in third place.
