Maria KeaneJulian Nagelsmann is returning to the bench of the German record champions Bayern Munich after recovering from COVID-19. The 34-year-old will be back on the sidelines in the Champions League duel against Benfica Lisbon in the evening (9 p.m.).
The Bavarians announced this after a negative PCR test. The trainer was already in charge of the sweating on Säbener Strasse at noon.
Nagelsmann was infected with the corona virus despite a double vaccination. He therefore missed four Bayern games in the stadium, including the 0-5 defeat in the DFB Cup at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
He was not “really annoyed” during this time. There are “much worse fates. Nevertheless, it was strange and unfamiliar. As a coach, you just want to be there.” Nagelsmann was represented by assistant coach Dino Toppmöller.
