Contract extension? Florian Kainz and 1. FC Köln approach each other

Not reported until early March imagethat the contract negotiations between Cologne and the 29-year-old are faltering. The people of Cologne are said to be on an austerity course and want to cut the salary of the former SK-Sturm-Kicker from 1.5 million to 800,000 euros.
Kainz’s contract in Cologne ends in the summer of 2022. The offensive player is set by coach Steffen Baumgart. He has played 24 Bundesliga games this season, recording three goals and five assists.
Compared to the table football Sports director Jörg Jakobs confirms that the “good talks” brought us closer together. Kainz is likely to agree to massive cuts. The goal: signing a contract before the international break.
