Dahoud falls out against Augsburg

BVB midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud injured his left ankle in the Champions League game against Sporting. Only a few moments after the kick-off at home, Dahoud was on the ground after a punch with Lisbon youngster Tiago Tomas.

The German international was escorted from the pitch by supervisors and went straight to the catacombs. Julian Brandt came into play after eight minutes for Dahoud.

“Mo made a self-diagnosis: the inner ligament hurts,” said BVB coach Marco Rose after the game Amazon Prime. However, one does not want to trust this diagnosis for the time being. Dahoud is “in pain, so he’s out for the weekend,” said Rose.

At the weekend, BVB is challenged in the Bundesliga at FC Augsburg. Then Rose can very probably look forward to Emre Can’s comeback. Rose: “He should be back towards the weekend.”
