BVB, News: Sébastien Haller trains at the former club

Sébastien Haller is back at his old place of work, at least temporarily. The 28-year-old completed individual training on a secondary pitch at his former club Ajax Amsterdam. Haller was diagnosed with a testicular tumor in the summer, after which he had to undergo surgery and receive treatment.

“He asked us if he could come and train because he’s in rehab here,” said Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder. It is “wonderful that he can be here for a while”. It is still unclear when Haller will return to Dortmund and BVB training, recently he could not rule out a second operation.

BVB had secured the attacker’s services in the summer, and Dortmund transferred a transfer fee of 31 million euros to Ajax. Last season he scored 34 goals in 43 competitive games for Amsterdam, and he also scored nine goals.

BVB, rumours: Mats Hummels had to report

After his public criticism of the performance of some teammates, Mats Hummels had to have a one-on-one meeting with BVB officials. That reports the sports picture. After the 2-0 defeat against Union Berlin in mid-October, Hummels complained: “Sometimes a simple 20-meter back pass is the best solution, even if it doesn’t come up on social media afterwards.”

As the report goes on to say, BVB coach Edin Terzic and sports director Sebastian Kehl agreed to the content of the 33-year-old’s criticism, but did not agree with the way it was done. Those responsible would therefore wish that criticism would be expressed internally in the future.

At least the team showed a reaction on the pitch. After the convincing 5-0 victory in the Bundesliga against Stuttgart last weekend, a draw against Manchester City (0-0) on the fifth day of the Champions League group stage enabled them to qualify early for the round of 16. Hummels also confirmed his current strong form.

Overall, however, Borussia’s season is characterized by ups and downs. Dortmund is currently only fifth in the Bundesliga, with BVB collecting 19 points in eleven games. The Black and Yellow won six times, drew once and lost four times.

BVB, News: CL hero Kobel surprised by progress

BVB keeper Gregor Kobel apparently couldn’t quite believe that the round of 16 ticket in the Champions League was really bagged. “Are you sure that we’re through?” Gregor Kobel asked after Borussia Dortmund’s 0-0 draw against Manchester City at the start of his TV interview Amazon Prime.

But the reporter was able to calm down quickly, Dortmund can no longer be pushed out of second place in Group G by winning a direct comparison with FC Sevilla. With his saved penalty in the 58th minute, Kobel played a large part in winning the point against City.

“It was very, very important that we reward ourselves,” said Kobel. Everyone was relieved that the group final at FC Copenhagen on November 2nd would not be a “final” for the knockout stages: “We are super happy that we qualified.” The draw is “certainly okay in the end”.

BVB, News: Kobel saves a penalty – thanks to a tip from Moukoko?

Kobel may have had support from a teammate when he saved the penalty. As seen on the television images, just before Riyad Mahrez shot, Youssoufa Moukoko raised his left arm and indicated to goalkeeper Kobel where Mahrez was going to shoot.

In fact, as indicated by Moukoko, Mahrez shot halfway to the left, Kobel jumped into the right corner and saved the penalty. Now BVB wants to continue to cause a sensation in Europe. “We don’t take it for granted. We want to go as far as possible,” said Jude Bellingham after the game.
