Eintracht Frankfurt makes a loss of 36 million euros

The effects of the corona pandemic brought Eintracht Frankfurt a loss of 36.1 million euros after taxes last season.

In the 2019/20 season, there was still a profit of 18.7 million euros. But since the season at that time had already been influenced by the pandemic (a minus of around nine million euros), Eintracht has already lost a total of 45 million euros due to the corona crisis.

According to the balance sheet figures presented on Thursday, the Frankfurt-based company made a turnover of 160.4 million euros in the past season – which means a massive drop of 118 million compared to the previous season (278.1 million euros).

The Hessians were therefore forced to “significantly reduce operating expenses”. After 242.5 million euros in the 2019/20 season, it was “only” 194.8 million euros in the 2020/21 season. Nevertheless, equity has shrunk from 53.4 to 39.0 million euros. This is offset by debts that have risen from 37.2 to 46.3 million euros.
