As the two football clubs announced on Friday evening, the 29-year-old Argentinian signed a contract until 2025. Eintracht only signed Mario Götze, the 2014 World Cup winning goalscorer, from Eindhoven on Tuesday.
“Internationally and also in the Bundesliga, he has always had a very good hit rate. With him we gain a new component in the offensive game,” said SGE sports director Markus Krösche.
Alario moved to Leverkusen from River Plate Buenos Aires in 2017.
The Argentinian made 164 appearances for the Werkself in all competitions, scoring 58 goals and assisting 16 more.
