Eintracht Frankfurt celebrated their first home win of the season in a 2-1 win against Union Berlin. Due to the defeat, the guests missed the leap to a place in the Champions League.

Evan Ndicka did a brisk dance after his last minute goal, then the winning goal scorer disappeared under a crowd of cheers. The players from Eintracht Frankfurt and coach Oliver Glasner celebrated the first home win of the season exuberantly – after the weak start to the season, the European Cup places are only two points away after the 2-1 (1-0) against Union Berlin.
“We have been rewarded. The will to win was incredible,” said Glasner. For the fifth time in the past six games, his team met just before the end. “It was well deserved. We played a great first half. It has to be 2-0 or 3-0,” said Glasner DAZN.
Djibril Sow (22nd) and Ndicka (90th + 5) scored the goals in their third league success in a row. The Köpenicker, however, missed the leap to a Champions League place. The interim equalization by Max Kruse (62nd, penalty kick) did not change anything. “We weren’t so handy. We didn’t take place in the first half,” said Grischa Prömel.

Out of nowhere, however, Union reported once in front of the Frankfurt goal and benefited from an unnecessary foul by Evan Ndicka on Taiwo Awoniyi – Kruse certainly converted to equalize. Eintracht only shook itself briefly. After a cross from Kostic, Ndicka headed to the well-deserved victory.
