Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is also out against TSG Hoffenheim

Bayern Munich must continue without the use of center forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

“He’s out for the weekend,” said coach Thomas Tuchel one day before Saturday’s Bundesliga game against TSG Hoffenheim (3:30 p.m.). The 34-year-old attacker continues to suffer from back and knee problems.

Choupo-Moting could be replaced, at least temporarily, by 17-year-old Mathys Tel. The starting eleven would be “still too early” for the young Frenchman, said Tuchel, “but he’s a candidate for 20 or 30 minutes, that also depends on how the game goes”.

Tel is then also a “candidate for the nine”, he sees him in this position as well as the player himself.
