With a total turnover of 665.7 million euros in the 2021/22 season, a surplus of 12.7 million euros after taxes was generated.

“Under difficult conditions, it was an extraordinarily good financial year for FC Bayern,” said outgoing CFO Jan-Christian Dreesen. He warned that the “effects of the pandemic, the consequences of the Ukraine war, the energy crisis and the resulting inflation” will also have a “significant” impact on the 2022/23 financial year. Nevertheless, FC Bayern expects “a further significant increase in sales and a positive operating result”.

The group’s largest income item was the proceeds from sponsorship and marketing, at EUR 224.2 million. The largest item in expenses was expenditure for personnel amounting to 324.1 million euros. The fixed assets amount to 441.4 million euros, the current assets, often also referred to as “fixed-term deposit accounts”, amount to 264.7 million euros. Equity as of June 30, 2022 was EUR 504.0 million.

As expected, FC Bayern AG missed the figures for the record 2018/19 season with sales of EUR 750.4 million and profit of EUR 52.2 million. However, there was an increase compared to the first 2020/2021 season, which was completely influenced by the pandemic: At that time, the Munich team still made a profit of 1.9 million euros with sales of 643.9 million euros.

FC Bayern is “completely debt-free”, emphasized President and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Herbert Hainer at the beginning of the annual general meeting. “We’re absolutely stable as a club.”
