FC Bayern brings goalkeeping talent Liu Shaoziyang from China

FC Bayern Munich has strengthened itself with the talented Chinese goalkeeper Liu Shaoziyang. The goalkeeper is moving from cooperation partner FC Wuhan Three Towns to the FC Bayern Campus and has a contract until June 30, 2025. The 18-year-old has already trained with the U19 champions and occasionally with the amateurs.

“We are very pleased that we were able to sign a player for FC Bayern for the first time in Liu Shaoziyang from our cooperation partner FC Wuhan Three Towns. This transfer speaks for our network in China, which we have been working with our employees in the office in Shanghai and our partners throughout the region, “announced Oliver Kahn on the FC Bayern website.

Liu himself spoke of a “great honor” to receive this unique opportunity at one of the “largest clubs in the world”. “FC Bayern has very, very many fans in my home country. I am incredibly proud and happy.” The keeper lives in the boarding school on the Bayern campus, works “intensively with goalkeeper coordinator Tom Starke” and learns German in order to integrate himself in the new environment in the best possible way.

Jochen Sauer, head of the FC Bayern Campus, praised Liu for the excellent development the Chinese made during his time as a guest player. “We see further potential in him. That is why we have implemented this change and are now pleased to be able to present the first Chinese player for FC Bayern.”

On Tuesday, FCB had already announced the contract extensions with the young goalkeepers Jakob Mayer (2023) and Tom Ritzy Hülsmann (2024).
