FC Bayern: FCB boss Kahn comments on Qatar sponsorship after the JHV scandal

Bayern bosses Oliver Kahn and Herbert Hainer made their first public statements after the canceled annual general meeting. CEO Kahn also went into the controversial Qatar sponsorship.

“We will seek the broadest possible opinion of our members about the Qatar Airways sponsorship,” wrote Kahn on Twitter.

An application submitted by FCB member Michael Ott to vote on the continuation of the controversial sponsorship was rejected at the annual general meeting. After some heated discussions on the subject, the AGM was canceled prematurely on Thursday, which led to even greater chaos. The events are still having an impact on Kahn.

“Apparently, some of the emotions that will be important to me in the future have not arrived. It has once again shown how important the exchange between FC Bayern and our members is,” wrote Kahn. “I’m very aware of that. Since I’ve been back at our club, we’ve already started a lot here.”

He referred to the creation of a common mission statement, which will be presented shortly. “The suggestions of our members played a decisive role in this. Nevertheless, there is still a lot to do and to improve!”, Added Kahn.

FC Bayern – Hainer: “We will learn from it”

Bayern President Hainer, who had to endure “Hainer out” calls after the cancellation on Thursday, took a position on Sunday. “We are analyzing very carefully how this course of the annual general meeting could come about,” said the FCB president kicker. “We will learn from this, and it is clear that we will rethink and intensify communication with our members.”

It had previously become known that Hainer had called club member Ott. “We briefly exchanged information about the AGM and stayed that way that we will have a personal conversation about Qatar and the AGM,” reported Ott on Twitter. When this conversation will take place has not yet been determined. “What is certain, however, is that the conflict must be resolved,” wrote Ott.
