“FC Bayern makes it too easy for itself”

Wenzel Michalski, Director of Human Rights Watch Germany, has criticized FC Bayern’s dealings with fans who reject the sponsorship agreement with Qatar Airways.

“It would be nice if FC Bayern would pay attention to its fans. Those responsible are making it too easy for themselves to sponsor Qatar Airways. This is a state-owned company,” Michalski told the news portal before the German record champions’ annual general meeting watson.

In Michalski’s opinion, an advertising deal would not change the local human rights situation. Basically, he hopes that the reputation of clubs will decline if they enter into deals with “such states”.
