Bundesliga: That's how much money Bayern gets from Qatar

The fan application for the annual general meeting of FC Bayern against the controversial Qatar sponsorship at FC Bayern is apparently in danger of failing. Initiator Michael Ott raises serious allegations against the club and wants to file a lawsuit.

“FC Bayern knows exactly that the application is admissible, but does not react and allows deadlines to pass,” wrote Ott on Twitter. Ott explained that he had set the club a deadline of 12 noon on Wednesday to confirm the approval of the application. “The only reaction: the application has not yet been checked – for three and a half weeks (!).”

For the annual general meeting on November 25th, Bayern fans, led by Ott as the head of the initiative, submitted an application to terminate or expire the partnership with Qatar Airways, which will last until 2023. But because of the lack of a confirmation of approval, Ott now wants to sue. “With this delaying tactic, FCB wants to make legal protection impossible,” he wrote. “A lawsuit must be brought and an injunction obtained.”

On the crowdfounding platform betterplace.me Trainee lawyer Ott from Mainz therefore appealed for donations. By Thursday noon, around a third of the estimated sum of 3,000 euros had already been collected.

FC Bayern: fans criticize Qatar sponsorship

Before the international break, fans of the record champions expressed their criticism of the Qatar sponsorship with a huge banner in the south curve during the game against SC Freiburg (2: 1).

FC Bayern has defended its commitment in the desert state many times. It was always said that changes could only be achieved through a dialogue with those in power on the ground. This intention was questioned on Thursday by the President of the Central Council of Jews and described as “in no way” logical.
