FC Bayern Munich: “I would like Haaland”

Honorary President Uli Hoeneß would like to have goalscorer Erling Haaland from Manchester City at Bayern. In an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung he commented in detail on the quake in the sporting leadership of the record champions and also criticized the situation in the storm of the professional team.

According to Hoeneß, it was very annoying that Robert Lewandowski was sold to FC Barcelona a year before the end of his contract without signing a top-class replacement.

It’s the responsibility of the dismissed sports director Hasan Salihamidzic: “I told Hasan very clearly: If we give him up, we’ll have to spend money and need a replacement. Lewandowski is a security package that guarantees you a minimum of 25 goals per season . If we had kept him, we would have had a year longer to find a successor.”

Hoeneß also has this successor in mind. With a smile he said: “I think Erling Haaland is good.”

Haaland: “Disrespect towards Lewandowski”

It shouldn’t become more than a wish. Haaland is still under contract with Manchester City until 2027 and the ex-Dortmunder’s market value has exploded after his record season in the Premier League.

A year ago, Bayern actually tried to get Haaland, but at the time the 22-year-old decided against moving to the Isar and hired ManCity for 60 million euros.

There are several versions of the reason for his cancellation. According to the FCB, Haaland was not affordable even then. Haaland, on the other hand, later criticized the courtship for his services as “disrespectful” towards Lewandowski, who was still under contract in Munich at the time.

Hoeness recommends Kolo Muani

Bayern, where Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is now largely responsible for transfers for the coming season, will sign a new striker. There are also candidates apart from Haaland. Eintracht Frankfurt’s Vice World Champion Randal Kolo Muani, for example, considers Hoeneß to be a “very good player”.

Napoli star Victor Osimhen would “also like Hoeneß”, but is skeptical: “Only from my point of view he is completely priceless.” On the other hand, Hoeneß gave a thumbs-down to a possible transfer from Harry Kanes (Tottenham Hotspur).
