Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann and his stars received a special honor three days after winning the German championship.
During the first training session on Tuesday on Säbener Strasse, the youngsters of the German record champions formed a trellis for the team. CEO Oliver Kahn and numerous employees celebrated Manuel Neuer and Co. from the office windows: They clapped and waved Bavarian flags.
Nagelsmann thanked everyone via megaphone in the pouring rain. He also said: “Next year it will be better, I promise.”
Bayern had won their tenth German championship in a row early on Saturday with a 3-1 win over their long-time rival Borussia Dortmund. In the Champions League, however, the ambitious Munich team had already failed in the quarter-finals. In the DFB Cup, FC Bayern had already made a fool of themselves in the second round.
