FC Bayern – Lothar Matthäus: FCB defenders lack the Bayern gene

Lothar Matthäus has criticized the defensive headquarters of FC Bayern. “On paper” there is “absolutely no need to worry” for the German record champions, but Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez, Niklas Süle and Dayot Upamecano apparently do not have the fullest confidence in Matthäus.

According to Matthäus, the four central defenders lack the “Bayern gene”. He has “the feeling that they have not yet internalized the Bayern gene permanently as was the case with Boateng and Alaba in recent years,” said Matthäus in his column for Sky sports.

“Of course, a game like the one in Gladbach should never happen to an Upamecano or the back team in a Champions League quarter-final,” the former FCB star continued. In the 5-0 defeat against Gladbach, Bayern was “incredibly bad”.

FC Bayern – Cuisance wants to prevail against the record champions

Mickael Cuisance is apparently still not thinking of leaving FC Bayern and wants to assert himself with the German record champions. This is reported by the French portal Foot Mercato.

Cuisance hopes to get more playing time under coach Julian Nagelsmann in the coming months. This season, Cuisance was used for the first time: In the DFB Cup, he played against Bremer SV for 44 minutes.

According to information from SPOX and goal, the player should still be handed in. In the summer, however, only a few clubs from Italy were interested in a loan.

FC Bayern – director gives insights into Bayern documentary

Director Simon Verhoeven gave insights into his work on the documentary “FC Bayern – Behind the Legend”. Verhoeven had accompanied Bayern for more than 100 days of filming as part of this work.

The director revealed in an interview with Sport1that Hansi Flick would have been very skeptical about his work at first. “You won’t come into the cabin,” Flick said to him at first. “At some point, however, he realized that we are not those investigative journalists or tabloid photographers who are annoying and looking for headlines all the time, but that we also come from football and are seriously interested in the people, the team and the work of his team “, so Verhoeven.

“Then he started to trust us. So much so that shortly before his farewell speech he gave Nepomuk (Fischer, editor’s note) to understand that something important was going to happen today. That’s why we were able to capture the scene perfectly “he explained. “During his speech, Hansi was very emotional, just like the players. It was and is an absolute goosebumps moment.”

Alphonso Davies’ red card against VfB Stuttgart also made a special impression. “He was totally depressed and kept saying: ‘I let the team down, what did I do?'”, Said Verhoeven. “Then all of a sudden ten of Bayern shot down VfB and Phonzie freaked out in the dressing room and celebrated. That was a wonderfully crazy and funny scene.” He emphasized: “There were days when there was a bang. But I think that in the end it was often very easy, despite the extreme pressure.”
